Fishin' With Red, LLC was originally founded in 1996 by Dominic 'Red' DeMaio. A lifelong avid fisherman, Red would return with his boat to his dock, watching as many of the people fishing from the pier accidentally stepped on their poles, tangled 'em up or dropped them into the water.

The idea hit him to design portable fishing rod holders that could alleviate those problems, yet be rugged enough and simple enough that even a child could use them.

In the confines of his garage, Red designed and built his very first Pole Pal. It was an instant hit among his many fishing buddies, and he thought of marketing his invention to the general public. But the idea lay dormant for several years until, by chance, he showed it to his current partners (his next door neighbor and his neighbor's brother).

Having a collective 60 years of high level retail, sales and marketing experience, they immediately recognized Pole Pal for what it is... simply the best, most ingenious portable dock fishing rod holder in the world!

Together, these three friends revitalized Fishin' With Red, LLC in the summer of 2003, and designed additional rod holders complementary to the Original Pole Pal patented design: Pole Pal MATE for use on boats, kayaks and canoes, and for bridges and piers with railings; and Pole Pal SAND, for use on sandy beaches and jetties. And they've expanded the Original Pole Pal capabilities with the addition of the interchangeable stainless steel shaft for use on hard-packed shorelines (included FREE with every Original Pole Pal purchase!) Today, they set about their goal of worldwide marketing and product recognition for the entire Pole Pal line of fishing rod holders.
